The results of the elections in Canada have made it clear that the majority of Hindu-Sikhs living in Canada are not supporters of Khalistan. Leaders like Jagmeet Singh, who openly supported Khalistani elements and talked about creating Khalistan, not only saw their party suffer a massive defeat, but he himself was unable to retain his own seat.
In recent times, it was becoming evident that former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was straining relations with India primarily because his government was being run under the influence of Khalistani sympathizers. Jagmeet Singh advanced his Khalistani agenda in exchange for supporting the government, but now the public has shown Trudeau’s Khalistani ally Jagmeet Singh his true place.
Jagmeet Singh’s party, the NDP (New Democratic Party), faced such a crushing defeat that it even lost its national party status. A party needs 12 seats for national status, but the NDP managed to win only 7 seats.
This should send a strong message not just in Canada but also to those in other countries who support Khalistani activities. If they do not stop such actions, their public may also vote them out of power like the Canadians did.
In Canada, people have even started a poster campaign against Jagmeet Singh, warning that his and his party’s downfall happened solely because of their support for Khalistanis. Otherwise, these were the same people who had openly supported Jagmeet Singh in the previous elections.
With the fall of the Trudeau government, there is now a sense that the Khalistani presence in Canada may soon come to an end, as members of the Liberal Party would not want to suffer consequences in future elections for harboring Khalistanis.
