Abohar’s Anshul Batra Shines with Historic Four Golds at All India Shooting Championship

In a spectacular display of skill and determination, Anshul Batra of Abohar has made history by clinching four gold medals in rifle shooting at the 33rd All India GV Mavlankar Shooting Championship. Held from November 3 to 7 at the Vattiyoorkavu Shooting Range in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, the championship saw Anshul dominate every event he entered, marking an unprecedented achievement in the competition’s 33-year legacy.

Anshul’s remarkable performance was highlighted by his flawless score of 400 out of 400 points—a first in the history of the championship organized by the Kerala Rifle Association (KRA) under the National Shooting Association of India. This perfect score not only secured him gold in all four rifle shooting categories but also set a new benchmark for excellence in the sport.

Upon his triumphant return to Abohar today, Anshul was met with a hero’s welcome. His father, Saurav Batra, a respected local businessman, stood proudly alongside family members, relatives, and community leaders as citizens gathered to celebrate his success. The welcoming ceremony at his residence in Suraj Nagari was a grand affair, featuring flower petals and traditional rituals that underscored the community’s pride and joy. Anshul’s grandparents were especially moved, offering heartfelt blessings to the young champion.

In recognition of his extraordinary achievements, both the Kerala Rifle Association and the Government of Kerala have extended generous support to Anshul. He has been offered free coaching and access to top-tier practice facilities, ensuring that his training continues unhindered as he prepares for future competitions.

Speaking about his historic victory, Anshul expressed his gratitude and dedication: “I am feeling great after this victory. It was made possible thanks to the support of my parents and family. I have been practicing tirelessly for the past few years and today I am reaping the rewards of my hard work.”
