In a major step towards modernizing agricultural communication, the district agriculture office has launched a dedicated YouTube channel titled ‘Muktsar Kheti Suchnavan’. The initiative aims to provide farmers with swift and easy access to vital farming information through short, easy-to-understand videos.
Muktsar, notably the home district of Punjab’s Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, is setting an example by embracing digital tools to support its farming community.
The newly launched channel will cover a wide range of topics, including weather forecasts, government welfare schemes, modern farming methods, available subsidies, and step-by-step registration guidelines. Officials said that the goal is to ensure that essential information reaches farmers in a timely manner without the barriers of bureaucracy or physical distance.
“This channel will serve as a vital link between our office and the farmers,” said Karanjeet Singh Gill, Chief Agriculture Officer, Muktsar. “We are committed to sharing timely updates and practical knowledge that can help farmers adopt improved practices, boost their crop yields, and enhance their income.”
The channel was officially inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Abhijeet Kaplish, who lauded the initiative as a forward-thinking move to strengthen support for farmers. “This YouTube channel is set to become a trusted companion for farmers, offering them the latest updates and helping them maximize their earnings,” said Kaplish during the launch event.
Local farmers have welcomed the initiative with optimism. Jaskaran Singh and Manjit Singh, farmers from a nearby village, shared their enthusiasm, stating, “Earlier, we often missed important announcements or government schemes because we weren’t informed on time. With this channel, we hope to get accurate updates without having to make repeated phone calls or travel to the agriculture office for every query.”
The launch of ‘Muktsar Kheti Suchnavan’ marks a new chapter for Muktsar’s farming community, blending tradition with technology to ensure a more informed, empowered, and prosperous future for farmers.
