In a significant blow to trans-border narcotic smuggling networks, Counter Intelligence (CI) Amritsar orchestrated a meticulously planned operation resulting in the arrest of one individual and the confiscation of a substantial cache of illegal substances. Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav revealed that a staggering 4 kilograms of ICE drug (Crystal Methamphetamine) and 1 kilogram of heroin were seized from the possession of the arrested culprit, Avtar Singh, a resident of village Kakkar in district Amritsar.
According to DGP Gaurav Yadav, the operation was initiated following credible intelligence indicating that Avtar Singh had obtained a consignment of narcotics from village Bhindi Saidan in Ajnala, with intentions to deliver it near Hargobind Avenue at Sher Shah Suri Road in Chheharta. With precision and swiftness, police teams from CI Amritsar, led by DSP CI Balbir Singh, swiftly descended upon the designated location, culminating in the arrest of Avtar Singh and the seizure of the illicit substances.
However, the plot thickens as investigations unearthed disturbing connections to a Pakistan-based drug smuggler. It was revealed that Avtar Singh maintained direct communication with this individual, who allegedly orchestrated the delivery of the narcotics using drones across the border. The utilization of such advanced technology underscores the sophisticated nature of these criminal operations.
