In a significant breakthrough, law enforcement agencies have apprehended three key associates of the notorious Goldy Brar-Saba USA gang, shedding light on their involvement in providing weapons and logistical support to recently captured shooters. The trio, identified as Abhishek Rana, Ankit Kumar, and Praveen Kumar, were taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation into the criminal activities of the gang.
Abhishek Rana, a resident of Rankhandi in Saharanpur, UP, allegedly facilitated a hideout for shooter Gurpal at the behest of Saba USA. Meanwhile, Ankit Kumar, residing in Mohali, played a pivotal role in procuring two weapon consignments over the past eight months. The first consignment was delivered to a fugitive involved in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, while the second consignment reached shooters Gurpal and Guri, following the instructions of Saba USA.
Ankit Kumar further assisted Gurpal in evading the authorities on November 6, the day Guri was apprehended after a brief encounter. Praveen Kumar, a resident of Lalru, provided a hideout for Gurpal in a local hotel, aiding his escape as directed by Saba USA and Goldy Brar.
The arrests come in the wake of the Zirakpur police nabbing two shooters linked to Goldy Brar and Saba USA. Manjit, alias Guri, was apprehended on November 6 after a brief encounter on VIP Road in Zirakpur, while Gurpal managed to escape initially but was later arrested on November 16 in UP. Both were found in possession of three pistols, leading to the registration of a case under Sections 307, 353, and 186 of the IPC and Section 25 of the Arms Act at the Zirakpur police station.
The investigation revealed a web of connections, ultimately leading to the arrest of Abhishek, Ankit, and Praveen, who were instrumental in supplying weapons and logistical support to the shooters. According to DSP Bikramjit Singh Brar, a total of five operatives of the Goldy Brar-Saba USA gang have been apprehended thus far as a result of the investigation initiated after the encounter on November 6 at Zirakpur.
The collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies have not only led to the dismantling of this criminal network but also underscore the challenges posed by such organized crime outfits.
