Acting swiftly on intelligence, the State Special Operation Cell in Amritsar apprehended a member of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI)-backed terror network. Identified as part of the US-based Harpreet Singh alias Happy Passia’s group, and his associate Resham Singh from Italy, these arrests mark a crucial step in preempting nefarious activities planned under foreign directives.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav confirmed the operation’s success, highlighting the recovery of critical evidence including a pistol, magazines, and ammunition from the operative’s possession. Just a day earlier, the Anti-Gangster Task Force, in collaboration with Rajasthan Police, detained three associates linked to Lawrence Bishnoi and US-based Goldy Brar gangs. Gurpreet Singh, Maninder Singh, and Harcharanjit Singh, known for their involvement in heinous crimes including murder and drug offenses, were apprehended with firearms and ammunition in their possession. These developments come as Punjab Police inaugurates the Special Task Force Intelligence and Technical Unit (SITU) this week.
