Today, a vibrant display of devotion and communal unity unfolded across the Amargarh, Ahmedgarh, and Malerkotla subdivisions as thousands of devotees participated in Nagar Kirtans and Prabhat Pheris. These religious processions were organized in anticipation of Guru Nanak Dev’s birth anniversary.

The events were meticulously coordinated by the Gurdwara Singh Sabha Parbhandak Committees, Banda Singh Bahadur Welfare Society, and Kalgidhar Federation. Demonstrating remarkable communal harmony, local Hindu and Muslim organizations actively collaborated in the festivities. Members and leaders from these communities welcomed devotees warmly and organized langars, providing free meals to participants and fostering a spirit of inclusivity.

In a unique blend of spirituality and patriotism, several organizers incorporated national flags and symbols of the armed forces into the processions. As the Nagar Kirtans weaved through various neighborhoods, police personnel, under the supervision of SSP Gagan Ajit Singh, paid their respects to the Guru Granth Sahib at police stations and other precincts along the routes.

The processions were a vibrant mix of cultural and religious elements, featuring a large number of vehicles including Panj Pyaras, Gatka parties, and school bands. These groups marched together, enhancing the festive atmosphere and showcasing the rich traditions of the region. The carefully selected routes ensured that the Nagar Kirtans passed by multiple religious sites of different sects, reinforcing the message of unity and mutual respect among diverse communities.

The day’s events not only honored the teachings and legacy of Guru Nanak Dev but also highlighted the region’s commitment to maintaining peaceful and cooperative interfaith relationships. As devotees prepared to celebrate the Guru’s birth anniversary tomorrow, today’s Nagar Kirtans and Prabhat Pheris stood as a testament to the enduring spirit of harmony and shared devotion that binds the communities of Amargarh, Ahmedgarh, and Malerkotla.
