In a significant stride towards enhancing accessibility to spiritual resources, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) unveiled a pioneering internet application tailored for Apple devices. The launch event, graced by SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami, marked a pivotal moment in enabling devotees worldwide to seamlessly connect with live Gurbani Kirtan from the iconic Golden Temple.

Dubbed ‘SGPC Gurbani Kirtan’, the user-friendly application is now available for free download on the Apple App Store. It represents a concerted effort to extend the reach of spiritual experiences, previously limited to Android users, to the vast community of Apple aficionados.

President Dhami underscored the app’s self-sufficiency, emphasizing its capacity to foster a profound connection between devotees and the sacred chants emanating from the heart of Sikhism. Compatible with iPhones, iPads, iPods, and MacBooks, the application sets a new standard for quality audio live-streaming, powered by cutting-edge technology.

To ensure uninterrupted transmission, the application mandates iOS 12.0 or later versions for mobile devices and macOS 11.0 or later, coupled with Apple M1 chip or later versions for Mac computers. This meticulous attention to technical specifications guarantees a seamless and immersive experience for users across diverse Apple platforms.

The launch of the iOS application represents a strategic move to cater primarily to the overseas community of Apple product users. President Dhami expressed optimism about the app’s potential to complement the existing Gurbani telecast infrastructure, amplifying the spiritual resonance of the Golden Temple’s sacred hymns.

“While the application currently offers audio-only transmission, it lays the groundwork for expanding the scope of Gurbani telecast on the internet,” President Dhami remarked. “The overwhelming response to our YouTube channel ‘SGPC Sri Amritsar’, launched in July 2023, underscores the global demand for accessible spiritual content.”

Since its inception, the SGPC’s YouTube channel has amassed a dedicated following, boasting 724K subscribers, while its Facebook page boasts 130K fervent followers. This robust online presence reflects a burgeoning appetite for digital platforms that facilitate spiritual communion and foster cultural connectivity across borders.

As the world navigates unprecedented challenges, the SGPC’s visionary foray into digital innovation underscores its unwavering commitment to serving humanity’s spiritual needs. By harnessing the power of technology, the SGPC endeavors to transcend geographical barriers, uniting devotees in a shared reverence for the timeless wisdom encapsulated in Gurbani Kirtan.
