by Manjari Singh

Jalandhar witnessed a captivating celebration of India’s cultural heritage and natural splendor today as Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industries, Mr. Jitin Prasada, was presented with two remarkable works of art. The first is a striking pictorial representation of the National Bird of India, the peacock, and the second is a renowned coffee table book titled Sadda Sohna Punjab, showcasing the breathtaking landscapes and tourism highlights of Punjab.

The peacock art, created by the distinguished author, heritage promoter, and nature artist Harpreet Sandhu, was presented to Mr. Prasada in a ceremony that highlighted the bird’s symbolic significance. The artwork portrays the peacock in all its resplendent glory, with its feathers forming a regal bustle of satin. This depiction not only underscores the bird’s grace and elegance but also embodies the rich cultural and ecological heritage of India.

Harpreet Sandhu, an advocate by profession and a passionate promoter of nature, emphasized that the peacock is more than just a national symbol; it represents India’s inherent beauty and the vital connection between humanity and nature. His artwork aims to celebrate the peacock’s role as a cultural icon and a reminder of the importance of preserving its natural habitat for future generations.

In addition to the peacock art, Mr. Prasada was introduced to Sadda Sohna Punjab, a coffee table book that offers an in-depth look at Punjab’s most scenic and culturally significant locations. This book, compiled by Sandhu, serves as a visual journey through the state’s diverse landscapes, from its picturesque countryside to its vibrant urban scenes.

Mr. Prasada praised Sandhu’s work, acknowledging the exceptional effort to highlight the peacock’s majestic beauty and the picturesque charm of Punjab. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering a deeper appreciation for India’s natural and cultural heritage.

As Harpreet Sandhu noted, his goal with these projects is to promote awareness and appreciation of India’s rich biodiversity and cultural traditions. By showcasing the peacock’s beauty and Punjab’s natural allure, Sandhu hopes to inspire a greater respect for our environment and heritage across the country.

Today’s event not only celebrated the artistic and cultural contributions of Harpreet Sandhu but also reinforced the message that the pride of India’s national bird and the enchanting landscapes of Punjab are treasures that should be cherished and preserved.
