We vehemently denounce the recent attacks on Sikh preachers within gurdwaras located in Western countries. These assaults have been perpetrated by disruptive factions associated with the Jararimpesha groups and their supporters. We call upon the government and law enforcement agencies to take immediate action against these elements.
These individuals not only disrupt the peace within Sikh communities abroad but also tarnish the reputation of the entire Sikh community. Their incessant conflicts and disputes, known as Chaudhar and Golak wars, have plagued our community for the past three to four decades.
Ordinary individuals within the Sikh community commit themselves to devotion and service, striving to enhance our community’s image through various volunteer efforts. Conversely, these professional instigators engage in strife and discord, ultimately giving up on the community’s well-being. While their actions often lead to tragic outcomes such as suicide, the general public remains silent. However, when the media portrays the Sikh community as terrorists or violent extremists due to the actions of these few individuals, a clamor to defame all Sikhs ensues. Sikhs are unjustly labeled as terrorists and separatists. It is imperative to recognize that our silence is mistakenly interpreted as consent.
Additionally, Sikh society must undergo a shift in its values. Currently, a person’s worth is often determined solely by their religious attire and physical appearance, rather than their character and behavior. Consequently, many individuals with nefarious intentions have infiltrated Sikh institutions under the guise of religious attire, propagating violence and hatred. The Sikh community must revise its mindset and categorize criminals as criminals, regardless of their outward appearance. Emphasis should be placed on character and behavior.
If we aspire to disassociate ourselves from these violent factions and prevent the misperception of Sikhs as a whole, we must loudly separate from them and disavow their actions within our community. Silence from the general public implies complicity, leaving us without ethical grounds to blame the media or governments when the actions of these few groups cast a shadow upon us all.

ਅਸੀਂ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁੰਡਾਗਰਦੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ, ਜਰਾਰਿਮਪੇਸ਼ਾ ਟੋਲਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹਿ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਕਾਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੱਥ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਖਰਾਬ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਸਗੋਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਕਮਿਉਨਿਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਨਾਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੌਧਰ ਤੇ ਗੋਲਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੜਾਈਆਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਕਮਿਉਨਿਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਛਲੇ 30-40 ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਸਰਮਸ਼ਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਆਮ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨਾਲ਼ ਲੰਗਰ ਲਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ਼ ਕਮਿਉਨਿਟੀ ਦਾ ਅਕਸ ਸੁਧਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਜਰਾਇਮਪੇਸ਼ਾ ਲੋਕ ਲੜਾਈਆਂ ਝਗੜੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਫੇਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਦੋ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕ ਬੁਰਛਾਗਰਦੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਆਮ ਲੋਕ ਚੁੱਪ ਚਾਪ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਰਹਿਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਾਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਨਾਲ਼ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਸਾਰੀ ਕਮਿਉਨਿਟੀ ਦਾ ਅਕਸ ਅੱਤਵਾਦੀ ਜਾਂ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਰੌਲ਼ਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਨਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਤਵਾਦੀ ਤੇ ਵੱਖਵਾਦੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਦੋ ਲੋਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਦੂਜੀਆਂ ਕਮਿਉਨਿਟੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਡੀ ਚੁੱਪੀ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਸਮਝੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਇੱਕ ਗੱਲ ਹੋਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਸਖਸ਼ੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੇ ਕਿਰਦਾਰ, ਵਿਵਹਾਰ, ਲਿਆਕਤ ਦੇ ਅਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ। ਸਿਰਫ ਉਸਦਾ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਪਹਿਰਾਵਾ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਲੁੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਚੰਗੇ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਹੋਣਾ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ਼ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਦੀ ਆੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਰੀਮੀਨਲ ਲੋਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਕਾਬਿਜ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਤੇ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਮੋਟ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਸਿੱਖ ਸਮਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਨਸਿਕਤਾ ਬਦਲਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ, ਕਰੀਮੀਨਲ ਨੂੰ ਕਰੀਮੀਨਲ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ, ਚਾਹੇ ਉਹ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਬਣਿਆ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ? ਸਿੱਖੀ ਕਿਰਦਾਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਦੀ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜੇ ਅਸੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਸਾਡਾ ਅਕਸ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਟੋਲ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਾਲ਼ਾ ਨਾ ਬਣੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖ ਹੋਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ ਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਮਿਉਨਿਟੀ ਦੀ ਮੁੱਖਧਾਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ….? ਜੇ ਆਮ ਜਨਤਾ ਨੇ ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜਦੋ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਦੇ ਗਰੁੱਪਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਾਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਲਈ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਜਾਂ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਇਖਲਾਕੀ ਹੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ….?
