In a proud moment for Patiala, a young local, Raninderjit Singh, has achieved distinction by joining the esteemed ranks of the Toronto Police Service in Canada as a Parking Enforcement Officer. The 22-year-old is slated to commence his duties today, following an intensive six-week training program.

Raninderjit Singh attributes his success to his upbringing and the support of his parents, Inderjit Singh and Kulwinder Kaur, who have traveled from Patiala to share in his achievement. He also acknowledges the guidance of his friend Hardeep Singh Bains, who serves as a police officer himself.

During his training, Singh stood out as the youngest among his cohort of 25 trainees. His academic prowess shone brightly when he scored an impressive 149 out of 150 on the training exam, earning him the top spot in his class. This accomplishment did not go unnoticed, as he was honored by Toronto Police’s deputy chief, Lauren Pogue, marking a significant milestone as the first person of Punjabi origin to receive such recognition.

Reflecting on his journey, Singh expressed gratitude for the opportunities Canada has provided since his move in 2019 after completing his schooling in Patiala. He has since worked in private parking enforcement and security roles, which prepared him well for his current position.

As a Toronto Police Parking Enforcement Officer, Singh’s responsibilities encompass a wide range of duties, including assisting in vehicle recoveries, offering language interpretation services, providing emergency support, managing crime incidents, and collaborating on community-policing initiatives.

His proud parents, visibly elated, shared their joy at seeing their son embark on this new chapter in his career. “We are very happy and proud of Raninderjit’s achievements,” said his mother, Kulwinder Kaur.

Raninderjit Singh’s story is a testament to perseverance and dedication, proving that with hard work and support from loved ones, one can achieve great heights. His journey from Patiala to Toronto serves as an inspiration to many aspiring young individuals, both in his hometown and beyond.

As he steps into his role with the Toronto Police Service, Raninderjit Singh carries with him the hopes and dreams of a community proud of his accomplishments and eager to see him excel in his chosen path.
