In a courageous display of valor and quick response, Pakistani security forces successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Base in Mianwali, Punjab. The early morning assault by a group of heavily armed militants was promptly met with decisive action, preventing the attackers from infiltrating the airbase. The Pakistan Air Force confirmed that three terrorists were neutralized in the exchange of gunfire, ensuring the safety and security of personnel and assets.

The attack took place on a Saturday morning when a group of five to six armed individuals attempted to breach the defenses of the Mianwali Training Air Base. The assailants, reportedly carrying explosive devices, engaged in a firefight with PAF personnel. Thanks to their swift and resolute response, the terrorists were stopped in their tracks before they could access the base’s critical areas.

In an official statement, the Pakistan Air Force praised the exceptional courage and timely response of their troops in neutralizing the attackers. This immediate response was crucial in averting a potential catastrophe. While three terrorists were eliminated, the remaining three were cornered and isolated by the security forces.

Unfortunately, the attack was not without consequences, as three aircraft parked inside the air base were damaged, and a fuel bowser was also targeted. Nevertheless, the effective and brave actions of the security personnel ultimately prevented a far more devastating outcome.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army reported that a comprehensive joint clearance and combing operation is currently underway to completely secure the area, ensuring that no further threats remain.

The responsibility for the attack has been claimed by the Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan (TJP), a Pakistan-based terrorist group. Their involvement in this incident underscores the ongoing security challenges faced by Pakistan.

The incident also drew attention on social media, with unverified videos of the attack being widely shared. It serves as a stark reminder of the need for continued vigilance and coordinated efforts to combat terrorism.
