Renowned city architect Sanjay Goel has been recognized by the Chandigarh Centre of the Indian Concrete Institute for his exemplary design of Nankana Sahib Public School, located on Gill Road, Ludhiana. The prestigious award was given in the Educational Category, celebrating the architect’s remarkable contribution to creating a unique and sustainable educational structure.
Sanjay Goel, the Chief Architect of Designex Architects in Ludhiana, expressed his gratitude upon receiving the honor. “Winning this award is a testament to the dedication and creativity of our entire team. Architecture is not just about designing buildings; it’s about creating spaces that inspire and uplift communities,” Goel said. He added that this recognition serves as a motivator for his team to continue pushing the boundaries of design and innovation.
The award-winning design of Nankana Sahib Public School stands out for its architectural and structural integrity. Goel highlighted that the new building, located within the existing campus, is designed on a traditional courtyard concept, making it an environmentally friendly structure. The five-story building features connecting bridges on every floor, each designed with a focus on strength and stability.
“The school building is not only aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly durable, both inside and out,” Goel remarked, underscoring the project’s focus on sustainability and functionality.
The award was jointly presented to the Nankana Sahib Education Trust and the structural consultant for the project, Prof. Harvinder Singh. Inderpal Singh, director of the Nankana Sahib Education Trust, accepted the award on behalf of the school.
Principal Harmeet Kaur of Nankana Sahib Public School expressed her congratulations, especially to the architectural team led by Goel, for their award-winning efforts. The school’s managing committee, which includes notable figures like ex-Mayor of Ludhiana HS Gohalwaria and Tara Singh, also extended their congratulations on this achievement.
