Industrial Leaders First: Punjab Prioritizes Business Solutions

by Parminder Singh Sodhi

In a significant move to bolster the state’s industrial sector, Industries and Commerce Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond held a pivotal meeting with local industrialists and businessmen yesterday at the Sangrur District Industrial Chamber, situated at the Industrial Focal Point on the Sangrur-Sunam Road.

Addressing the assembly, Minister Sond emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to supporting the industrial community. “The state government has been assisting industrialists in every possible manner, ensuring that their issues are addressed on a priority basis,” he stated. He further highlighted the introduction of industry-friendly policies aimed at simplifying the entrepreneurial process. Notably, small entrepreneurs can now initiate their ventures by merely submitting an affidavit, with the provision to complete all other documentation within three years.

In addition to easing the entry barriers for new businesses, Minister Sond announced that all industrial focal points are being upgraded with world-class facilities. “In the first phase, focal points in five key cities will be developed as role models, setting a benchmark for others to follow,” he explained. This initiative is expected to enhance operational efficiencies and attract further investments into the state’s industrial landscape.

The meeting also saw the presence of Sangrur MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj and DIG Patiala, Mandeep Singh Sidhu, underscoring the collaborative effort between various government bodies to support the industrial sector.

Local business leaders expressed optimism about the new policies, citing them as a much-needed boost for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). “These measures will undoubtedly make it easier for us to start and grow our businesses, contributing to the overall economic development of the region,” remarked a prominent industrialist present at the meeting.

The state government’s proactive approach aims to create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive, ensuring sustained economic growth and job creation. As the focal points in major cities undergo transformation, the state is poised to emerge as a competitive hub for industries in the coming years.\
