Ex-Servicemen Rally Celebrates Valor and Advocates for Welfare in Ferozepur

A spirited rally themed “VeeronkaSamman, DeshKaAbhiman” (Honoring Heroes, Pride of the Nation) unfolded under the auspices of the Western Command at Ferozepur Cantonment, bringing together a robust assembly of over 3,000 ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and widows of soldiers from across Punjab’s districts, including Ferozepur, Tarn Taran, Fazilka, Muktsar, Faridkot, Moga, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Kapurthala.

The event was graced by Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Command, who underscored the significance of the rally through his heartfelt interactions with attendees. His presence reinforced the commitment of the Indian Army to the welfare of its veterans and their families.

The rally served as a crucial platform for the ex-servicemen community to voice their concerns and seek resolutions on pivotal issues such as pension schemes, SPARSH, ECHS, and CSD facilities. Interactive sessions facilitated direct communication between the attendees and various authorities and agencies, including representatives from banking institutions, ensuring efficient grievance redressal and providing clarity on complex matters.

Participants lauded the effective grievance redressal mechanisms established during the event, which they found highly beneficial. Additionally, informative talks were conducted to enlighten the attendees about various government schemes and available facilities, enhancing their awareness and utilization of these resources.

In a heartfelt gesture of recognition, Gallantry Awardees, Veer Naris, and disabled ex-servicemen were felicitated by the Army Commander, celebrating their unwavering bravery and sacrifices. This act of appreciation resonated deeply with the attendees, fostering a sense of pride and solidarity.

The rally’s vibrant atmosphere was further enlivened by captivating performances of traditional martial arts, including Gatka and Kalaripayattu. These demonstrations not only entertained the crowd but also evoked a profound sense of nostalgia and pride among the ex-servicemen, celebrating the rich martial heritage of India.

As the rally concluded, it was evident that the event had successfully reinforced the bond between the Indian Army and its veterans, while also paving the way for enhanced support and recognition of those who have dedicated their lives to the nation’s defense. The theme “VeeronkaSamman, DeshKaAbhiman” aptly captured the essence of the day, honoring the valor of ex-servicemen and affirming their indispensable role in upholding the nation’s pride.
