In a significant operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) team in Amritsar seized heroin worth ₹15 crores along with a foreign-made pistol and incendiary material from the Kakkar village area.
According to sources, the heroin and pistol, weighing four kilograms and concealed in a packet, were accompanied by a hook, indicating that the packet was likely dropped using a drone. It’s noteworthy that earlier, in a nearby village bordering India and Pakistan, five kilograms of heroin were seized, valued at approximately ₹25 crores in the international market.
The interception of such a large quantity of narcotics highlights the persistent challenges faced by border security forces in curbing the illicit drug trade across the India-Pakistan border.
