In a significant breakthrough, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of the Punjab Police successfully apprehended a key operative affiliated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gang. The arrest was confirmed by Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav during a press briefing held today.
The captured individual, identified as Vikramjit Singh, known by the alias ‘Vicky,’ hails from Satiyewala village in Ferozepur and has an extensive criminal record. Vicky was wanted in connection with no less than 20 cases involving heinous crimes, including murder, attempted murder, violations of the Arms Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) across Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
The arrest, which unfolded in Mohali, saw the confiscation of a Chinese .30-calibre pistol along with eight cartridges from Vicky’s possession. Furthermore, a Toyota Fortuner car linked to the accused was impounded by the authorities.
Preliminary investigations into the case have shed light on Vicky’s alleged involvement with Pakistan-based drug smugglers, facilitated through connections with Goldy Brar and Saba (USA). It is suspected that Vicky played a crucial role in receiving illegal consignments of weapons and narcotics from across the border. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav revealed that the arrested individual was assigned the ominous task of eliminating rival gang members, particularly those associated with the Davinder Bambiha gang.
Astonishingly, the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Gurmeet Singh Chauhan disclosed that Vicky had a direct role in the sensational murder of gangster Jordan, perpetrated at a gymnasium in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan, in 2018. Vicky was identified as one of the shooters and co-accused in the killing of Jordan, alongside the late gangster Ankit Bhadu.
The AGTF, led by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Promod Ban, meticulously pursued the trail of accused Vicky, culminating in a successful operation that led to his arrest. The apprehension took place at an apartment in Sector 91 of Mohali, emphasizing the task force’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks operating within the region.
The arrest of Vicky marks a significant achievement for law enforcement agencies, illustrating their dedication to curbing the activities of organized criminal groups and ensuring the safety and security of the public.
