In a resounding call for renewed spiritual vigor among the Sikh community, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj—officiating Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht and Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib—along with Baba Tek Singh, Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, officially launched a fresh religious preaching campaign titled “Khuaar Hoye Sabh Milenge” (“those feeling dejected and in despair will reunite”). The campaign was inaugurated with the rhythmic beating of the Nagara (drum) at Gurdwara Janam Asthan Bhai Jeevan Singh in the quaint village of Gaggo Mahal, located in the Ajnala area of Amritsar.
A Spiritual Revival Under the Auspices of SGPC
The initiative, spearheaded by the Dharam Parchar Committee of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and endorsed by Sri Akal Takht, marks a significant effort to reinvigorate the message of Sikh Gurus among communities across Punjab and beyond. The ceremony was highlighted by a special Gurmat Samagam—a congregation where the ancient traditions of Gurbani were interwoven with the vibrant history of Sikhism. Esteemed raagi, dhadi, and Kavishar jathas enriched the event, creating an atmosphere that resonated deeply with Sikh heritage and values.
Emphasis on Spiritual Uplift and Community Unity
In his address, Jathedar Giani Gargaj outlined a visionary path for the campaign, stating that the core objective was to inspire individuals to embrace the teachings of the Sikh Gurus and to encourage the taking of Amrit, the sacred initiation rite. “The philosophy and message of the Sikh Gurus will be disseminated and the Sangat will be inspired to take Amrit,” he declared, emphasizing that the initiative is not only a revival of faith but also a proactive response to the recent surge in religious conversions within Punjab.
Over the forthcoming year, a series of events supported by the SGPC are slated to roll out, each designed to provide spiritual upliftment and reinforce family bonds through the timeless wisdom of Gurbani and Gurmat. Jathedar Gargaj announced plans to tour various gurdwaras to personally preach and foster a deeper understanding of Sikhi, reaffirming that the fight against anti-Sikh Deras remains a top priority in preserving the community’s integrity.
A Unified Call to Action
The “Khuaar Hoye Sabh Milenge” campaign stands as a beacon of hope for those feeling isolated or overwhelmed in contemporary times. By bridging past traditions with present challenges, the initiative seeks to unite Sikhs across geographical and generational lines. Community leaders and devotees alike have expressed optimism that the sustained focus on Gurbani and spiritual education will not only counter divisive trends but also restore a sense of purpose and belonging among the faithful.
As the campaign takes root, it promises to be a transformative period for Sikhs nationwide, reaffirming a shared commitment to the enduring legacy of our faith and the timeless teachings of our Gurus.
