After the recent attack in Jammu and Kashmir, a statement by Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, currently based abroad, has gone viral on social media. In the video, he appears to offer help to the Hindu families affected by the terrorist attack. However, this is clearly just a theatrical stunt, as Pannu knows very well that no Indian—especially no Hindu family—would ever accept help from someone like him.
What exactly is Pannu trying to signal with such statements? What are his true intentions? On one hand, he calls for all Hindus to leave Canada, and on the other, he pretends to show sympathy toward Hindu families. This is a blatant example of his double standards, which the public can now clearly see through.
If we look closely, people like Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, under the guise of Khalistan, are poisoning the minds of young Sikhs abroad against the Indian government. This indoctrination often results in such violent incidents being carried out in the future. Pannu frequently incites Sikhs to stand against Hindus—so why this sudden display of compassion for the same people?
Sikh leader Paramjit Singh Chandhok believes that Pannu has no genuine sympathy for the Hindu families and that his statement was merely meant to mock them. He said that there is no need for Pannu to worry about us; our government is fully capable of taking care of every citizen. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has personally taken note of the incident and, along with Home Minister Amit Shah and other ministers, is formulating a strategy. The government will provide every possible assistance to the affected families.
Furthermore, all the Gurdwaras in the Kashmir Valley have also stepped forward to help the tourists, so Mr. Pannu, there is absolutely no need for you to be concerned about us.
