Teenagers Arrested in Surrey Shooting

by News Desk

The tranquility of a South Surrey neighborhood was shattered on February 1st, 2024, when gunfire erupted outside the residence of Simranjeet Singh, a close associate of Khalistan extremist Hardeep Nijjar. Singh, known for his involvement with the separatist movement, found himself at the center of a startling incident that sent shockwaves through the community.

In the aftermath of the shooting, fingers were pointed, and accusations flew, with some pro-Khalistan groups immediately alleging an Indian role in the attack.

Today, a significant development emerged in the case, as authorities apprehended two 16-year-old boys on charges related to the incident. The charges include careless use of a firearm and discharging a firearm with intent. Despite this breakthrough, the investigation remains ongoing, with authorities diligently working to unravel the motive behind the attack and determine if any additional individuals were involved, reported CBC News.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) swiftly condemned the spread of rumors and urged the community to exercise patience and trust in the investigative process. Their plea underscores the importance of responsible social media usage, particularly in moments of heightened tension. Misinformation can exacerbate fear and hinder the pursuit of justice, making it imperative for individuals to verify information before sharing it.
