In a significant stride towards fostering societal growth and addressing critical challenges in Punjab, the esteemed Satkarmic Mission orchestrated a transformative seminar titled “Women Empowerment and Punjab: Nurturing Societies” at the Smt. Sakindra Sakindra Devi MultiMedia Hall of Maharishi Dayanand Public School, MDAV Bhavan, Daria.
Leading the event was Bibi Harleen Kaur, the revered spiritual head of the Satkarmic Mission. Known for her unwavering dedication, Bibi Harleen focused the seminar on combating the pervasive issues of religious conversion and drug addiction in Punjab, while simultaneously advocating for spiritual upliftment as a cornerstone for community advancement.
The seminar attracted an impressive turnout of over 100 women from diverse backgrounds, including educators, homemakers, professionals, students, and social activists. This eclectic mix underscored the mission’s commitment to empowering women across all facets of society.
During her keynote address, Bibi Harleen Kaur passionately highlighted the indispensable role women play in nurturing families and driving community and societal progress. She emphasized that empowering women is pivotal in addressing Punjab’s pressing adversities. Her dynamic presentation incorporated personal anecdotes, interactive sessions, and practical exercises aimed at fostering self-awareness and personal growth among the attendees.
Adding depth to the discussions, several distinguished guest speakers shared their insights. Sardar Inder Preet Singh, President of the Shiromani Akali Dal, advocated for maintaining mental tranquility in the face of challenges. He encouraged participants to embrace peace and engage in meaningful dialogues to prevent the buildup of negative emotions.
Sardar Harmeet Singh, Vice President, focused on the importance of harmony and meditation, underscoring the vital role women play in shaping the moral fabric of their households. Meanwhile, Sardar Aman Bandvi, General Secretary, stressed the significance of upholding Indian cultural values and spiritual resilience. He remarked, “While Western societies may prioritize annual celebrations, our Indian traditions have long revered women as spiritual leaders and guides, honoring them through festivals like Navratras and revering female deities.”
The event also received commendations from the educational sector. Anju, Vice Principal of Maharishi Dayanand Public School, expressed her delight at hosting the seminar.
