A delegation from Punjab has made waves at Gulfood 2024, one of the world’s leading food and beverage sourcing events held in Dubai. Their mission: to spotlight Punjab’s burgeoning potential in food processing and to forge international partnerships to boost exports.

The Punjab Agri Export Corporation (PAGREXCO) spearheaded the delegation’s efforts, showcasing a plethora of top-quality food brands that have captured the attention of over 200 prospective buyers worldwide. Products like chili paste, tomato paste, tomato puree, organic basmati rice, and various other processed foods have garnered significant interest from global markets.

Minister Khudian emphasized Punjab’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for both domestic and foreign investors within the thriving food processing sector. “We want to inspire entrepreneurs to build successful businesses in Punjab,” he stated, extending an invitation for foreign investment during the event.

Notably, Punjab has already secured confirmed orders from traders in Nepal, the UAE, Canada, and the UK, signaling a promising trajectory for its exports.

Discussions held with participants from countries such as Spain, Estonia, Italy, and Russia revolved around the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and innovative products to benefit Punjab’s farmers. Strategic meetings with Basmati exporters outlined plans aimed at amplifying exports from the state, further solidifying Punjab’s position as a key player in the global food market.

Minister Khudian underscored the significance of such outreach efforts in elevating Punjab’s agriculture and food processing industries onto the global stage. “Our participation in a major global expo reflects the government’s commitment to making food processing technology a key priority,” he affirmed.

Indeed, these proactive measures are pivotal in creating a robust network of support for Punjab’s agricultural and food processing sectors, both at home and abroad. As Punjab continues to assert its presence on the international stage, the future looks promising for the state’s agro-based industries, poised for sustainable growth and development.
