In a move poised to revolutionize educational opportunities for young minds, Chitkara University, a renowned multi-disciplinary institution, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wipro Limited, a leading technology services and consulting giant. This landmark agreement aims to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) on the university’s campus, dedicated to enhancing the employability and skill sets of students.
The MoU signing ceremony witnessed the convergence of top representatives from both organizations. Wipro Limited was represented by Sanjeev Jain, COO; Jasjit Kang, Senior Vice President & Business Head, Digital Operations & Platforms; and Sandesh Kumar, General Manager & Next Gen Talent Hiring. On behalf of Chitkara University, Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, expressed her enthusiasm for this collaborative venture.

The Centre of Excellence is set to engage students through a structured pre-skilling training program, specifically targeting those in their 5th to 8th semesters of eligible engineering branches. The initiative kicks off with Wipro conducting hiring assessments for interested 5th-semester students. Those shortlisted will then participate in a credit course during their 6th and 7th semesters, meticulously designed by Wipro’s competency team.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will undergo Wipro’s selection process, and those who pass will receive a Letter of Intent (LOI) and valuable internship opportunities post their 7th semester. This practical approach ensures that students are not only academically proficient but also industry-ready by the time they graduate.
This initiative builds on the robust relationship between Wipro and Chitkara University, with Wipro having recruited engineering students from the university for nearly two decades through campus recruitment drives. The Centre of Excellence signifies a significant step towards strengthening industry-academia collaboration and enhancing the employability of engineering graduates.
