In a momentous occasion marked by devotion and community spirit, the foundation stone of the Param Purakh Academy was laid in Edmonton, Alberta. This auspicious event, led by Baba Sukha Singh, the esteemed head of the Kar Sewa sect from Sarhali, resonated deeply with the Sikh community in Canada.

The ceremony, which took place amidst a gathering of devotees from various cities across Canada, was a testament to the growing cultural and spiritual vitality of the Sikh diaspora. Bhai Gurpreet Singh Moga enriched the atmosphere with soulful Kirtan, while Gyani Harjit Singh, renowned for his enlightening discourses on Gurmat, stirred hearts with his profound insights at the event held at Gurdwara Ber Sahib, Sultanpur Lodhi.

Baba Sukha Singh, revered for his leadership in promoting Sikh values, emphasized the importance of preserving Punjabi language and Gurmat teachings among the younger generation. He spoke passionately about the significant influx of Punjabi families, students, and professionals who have made Canada their home in recent years, predicting more migrations in the future. “It is crucial,” he asserted, “to connect the new generation with their cultural roots and spiritual heritage.”

The initiative to establish Param Purakh Academy reflects a visionary step towards fulfilling these aspirations. As the foundation stone was laid, it symbolized not just the physical beginning of a building but also the spiritual foundation of a community hub where future generations will imbibe the essence of Sikh teachings.

The event concluded with Baba Sukha Singh captivating the audience once more with his stirring rendition of Kirtan, underscoring the Academy’s commitment to nurturing both spiritual growth and cultural identity among Sikhs in Canada.

With the Param Purakh Academy poised to become a beacon of Sikh culture and education in Edmonton, its establishment marks a significant milestone in the vibrant heritage of Canada’s multicultural landscape, promising to enrich the lives of generations to come.
