India has marked its strongest-ever presence at the 2026 Summer Fancy Food Show in New York, with more than 70 exhibitors presenting a diverse range of agricultural and processed food products aimed at expanding the country’s footprint in the lucrative US market.
Held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Centre from June 28 to 30, the exhibition is North America’s leading speciality food trade event and has brought together global buyers, retailers, distributors and food industry professionals.
The India Pavilion was jointly inaugurated by Consul General of India in New York Binaya Pradhan and Michelin-starred chef Vikas Khanna. Designed to highlight India’s growing capabilities in food processing and agricultural exports, the pavilion features products spanning basmati rice, spices, frozen foods, ready-to-eat meals, beverages, organic produce and snack items.
According to organisers, the participation reflects India’s increasing focus on tapping the North American consumer packaged food market, which is estimated to offer business opportunities worth USD 30-50 billion over the next decade.

During his visit to the exhibition, Pradhan interacted with exporters showcasing products such as basmati rice and convenience foods, expressing confidence that the event would enhance the visibility of Indian food brands while strengthening export ties with the United States.
Speaking at the inauguration, chef Vikas Khanna emphasised that every product on display represents the efforts of millions involved in India’s food value chain—from farmers and manufacturers to exporters, distributors and retailers—whose collective work has helped Indian food products gain recognition globally.
Among the key attractions at the India Pavilion are dedicated showcases for Indian mangoes and culinary demonstrations featuring premium basmati rice, aimed at introducing international buyers to the quality and diversity of Indian produce.
Alongside the food exhibition, the Indian Consulate also organised its first virtual India-US textiles and apparel buyer-seller meet through the India-USA Trade Facilitation Portal in collaboration with the Apparel Export Promotion Council. The online event connected 22 Indian exporters with 40 US importers, further strengthening commercial engagement between the two countries.
