In a significant step towards bridging the gap between academia and industry, Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Avitri Intelligence Private Limited, an AI-driven digital manufacturing firm.

The partnership aims to prepare students for the rapidly evolving technological landscape by fostering innovation, skill development, and research in advanced manufacturing. As part of this collaboration, a Centre of Manufacturing AI Excellence (COMAI) will be established on the MDU campus.

The MoU was signed by MDU Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal and Avitri Intelligence Founder and Chairperson Mrinalini Chaudhary in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia. Dean Academic Affairs Prof. A.S. Maan, other senior faculty members, and company officials witnessed the signing.

The collaboration will focus on key emerging areas including Artificial Intelligence, robotics, software development, digital solutions, and advanced manufacturing technologies. Students and faculty will gain access to joint research projects, industry-led assignments, and practical hands-on training programmes designed to align academic learning with real-world industry demands.

Pankaj Nain, Public Relations Officer of the university, highlighted that the initiative will help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry requirements.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia emphasized the importance of adapting to modern technologies. “The present era is shaped by AI, Big Data, the Internet of Things and other emerging technologies. Universities must equip students with future-ready skills,” he said.

Prof. Punia added that students are the future of the nation and universities have a responsibility to prepare them through innovation and technological competence. He noted that the partnership is in line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which stresses greater integration between education and industry.

Dean Prof. A.S. Maan and Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal echoed similar sentiments, stating that the MoU will significantly enhance practical exposure, research capabilities, and employability of students.
