Among the top performers is Simrandeep Kaur, a resident of Birarhwal village in Nabha, Patiala district, who secured the 15th rank in the country. Coming from a farming family, Simrandeep’s father works as a farmer while her mother is a homemaker. She completed her education at Khalsa College, Patiala, and prepared for the examination through online coaching. With no prior government employee in her family, Simrandeep’s achievement marks a significant milestone for her household.

Another notable achiever is Rasneet Kaur, from Madanpur village near Rajpura, who secured the 51st rank. At just 22 years old, Rasneet cleared the prestigious examination in her first attempt. The daughter of Jaswinder Singh, a lineman with Punjab State Power Corporation, and Swarn Kaur, a homemaker, Rasneet completed her BSc in Chemistry from Panjab University, Chandigarh. She then dedicated a year solely to preparing for the exam.

Rasneet followed a strict study schedule, devoting nearly 12 hours a day to preparation during the crucial phase of the examination. She also received guidance and support from the Young Progressive Sikh Forum during her preparation and interview stages. Rasneet prepared alongside her elder brother, Jagdeep Singh, who is currently studying for the state civil services examinations. Expressing her aspirations, she said she hopes to serve the nation as an IAS officer and encouraged young women to pursue their ambitions with determination.

Several other candidates from Punjab also performed well in the examination. Sanavardeep Singh of Faridkot secured the 76th rank. A mechanical engineering graduate from Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune, he completed his degree in 2021. His mother, Dr Gagandeep Kaur, is a college professor, while his father, Dr Kuldeep Singh, works in the Agriculture Department.

Navneet Kaur, 24, from Bathinda secured the 111th rank in her third attempt, demonstrating remarkable perseverance. She completed her undergraduate studies in English (Honours) from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University, and later pursued a Master’s degree in English from Jamia Millia Islamia.

Another achiever, Akriti Singla from Abohar, secured the 122nd rank and is expected to join the Indian Police Service. She completed her BCom from Daulat Ram College, Delhi University, followed by an MCom from Hansraj College. Akriti has also qualified the UGC-NET and JRF in commerce.

Congratulating the successful candidates, Patiala Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia said their achievements highlight the determination and strong academic culture of the region’s youth.
