Dialogue with Pakistan Only After Dismantling Terror: India’s Stern Warning

by Manjari Singh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday delivered a powerful message to the nation and the world, declaring that India has forcefully avenged the heinous Pahalgam terrorist attack with the launch of “Operation Sindoor.” In his first public address since the April 22 tragedy, Modi made it clear that India’s new posture toward terrorism is one of unwavering strength and precision.

Calling the brutal killing of 26 faith-based tourists in Pahalgam “barbaric and dastardly,” the Prime Minister said the Indian military’s swift and targeted response has drawn a new line in the country’s approach to national security. “Operation Sindoor has become the immortal pledge of justice,” Modi said, stressing that every terrorist trained by Pakistan now understands the dire consequences of their actions.

Addressing the nation on Buddha Purnima, Modi reiterated that India’s dialogue with Pakistan would henceforth be limited to two issues: the return of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and the dismantling of terrorism. “Terror and talks cannot go together; terror and trade cannot go together; blood and water cannot flow together,” he emphasized.

In a scathing attack on Pakistan, the Prime Minister accused its military of openly endorsing terrorism, citing the attendance of top Pakistani generals at the funerals of slain terrorists. “The world has seen undeniable evidence of state-sponsored terror,” he said, warning Islamabad that dismantling its terror infrastructure is crucial for its own survival.

During Operation Sindoor, Indian forces carried out precision strikes across terror hubs deep within Pakistan. Modi revealed that more than 100 notorious terrorists—many who had evaded justice for decades—were eliminated in a matter of days. He highlighted that critical terror breeding grounds such as Bahawalpur and Muridke, long known as nurseries for global terrorism, were reduced to rubble.

The Prime Minister praised the Indian Armed Forces for their exemplary bravery and showcased the effectiveness of “Made-in-India” weapons systems in 21st-century warfare. “The world has seen that Indian innovation is now setting new benchmarks on the battlefield,” he noted.

According to Modi, Pakistan’s initial aggression following the Indian strikes—targeting schools, religious sites, and civilian areas—was met with an impenetrable air defense system and decisive counterstrikes that crippled Pakistani military infrastructure. “Within the first three days, Pakistan’s terror machinery was in ruins,” he stated, noting that Pakistan soon sought a ceasefire through diplomatic backchannels.

However, the Prime Minister warned that the pause in hostilities should not be mistaken for an end. “Our response has only been paused, not ended. We will hold Pakistan accountable for its promises,” he asserted.

Throughout his address, Modi emphasized the importance of national unity in combating terrorism. “Our unity is our greatest strength. This era is not one of war, but neither is it an era where terrorism will be tolerated,” he said, reinforcing India’s policy of zero tolerance toward terror.

In an emotional tribute, Modi dedicated Operation Sindoor to the mothers and sisters of India whose dignity was desecrated by terrorists. “Operation Sindoor is not just an operation; it is the voice of our collective national spirit, a reaffirmation that India will never bow to terror,” he declared.

As India turns a new page in its fight against terrorism, Operation Sindoor stands as a resolute symbol of the nation’s determination to protect its citizens and uphold justice—firm, fearless, and unyielding.
