Canadian Authorities Arrest One in AP Dhillon House Shooting

by Antariksh Singh

Canadian law enforcement officials announced Friday the arrest of an Indian national connected to the September 2 shooting incident at the residence of popular Punjabi singer AP Dhillon in Colwood.

The attack, which also involved the arson of two vehicles, was attributed to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. While authorities have not officially named the gang in relation to this specific case, their involvement has been strongly suggested.

West Shore RCMP Officer Nancy Saggar confirmed the arrest in a media statement. “We have apprehended Abjeet Kingra, a 25-year-old resident of Winnipeg, in connection with the discharge of a firearm with intent and arson,” Saggar stated. Kingra was taken into custody in Ontario and is scheduled to appear before an Ontario court in the coming days.

Investigators are also pursuing another suspect, Vikram Sharma, 23, who was last seen in Winnipeg. An arrest warrant has been issued for Sharma, but authorities believe he has fled to India to evade capture.

The Bishnoi gang is believed to have targeted AP Dhillon following a perceived slight over the singer’s collaboration with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Sources indicate that the gang issued threats against Dhillon, leading to the violent retaliation.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the Canadian Punjabi community, raising concerns about the safety of high-profile artists and the influence of international gang activities within Canada.

Police are urging anyone with information regarding Vikram Sharma’s whereabouts to come forward, as efforts continue to bring all individuals responsible for the attack to justice.

AP Dhillon, known for his dynamic performances and growing international fanbase, has not yet publicly commented on the incident. Support from fans and the community is pouring in as investigations proceed.

Authorities remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and will continue to monitor gang-related activities closely.
