The SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) stands as a beacon in the academic world, offering a comprehensive classification of academic and research institutions worldwide. It employs a composite indicator, amalgamating three crucial metrics: research performance, innovation outputs, and societal impact, gauged through web visibility.
In the latest iteration of SIR-2024, over 9,000 academic and research-related institutions globally underwent evaluation based on these three pivotal indicators. In the University category, CU Punjab soared to the 53rd position in India, marking its presence at the 683rd spot in the vast expanse of the Asiatic Region and an impressive 1973rd globally.
CU Punjab’s stellar performance reflects in its remarkable percentile scores across Research, Innovation, and Societal parameters within India. Consequently, the University clinched an overall rank of 88 among all academic and research-based institutions in the country and a notable 53rd position among the top universities in India.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Raghavendra P. Tiwari, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the faculty, staff, scholars, and students of CU Punjab for this remarkable feat.
