In a significant operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully intercepted and shot down a Pakistani drone loaded with narcotics near the International Border close to Punjab’s Amritsar, as reported by the force on Sunday. The incident took place in the village of Dhanoe Kalan in the Amritsar district, when BSF troops deployed in the area detected the buzzing sound of a suspected Pakistani drone.
Acting swiftly in accordance with the prescribed procedures, the BSF troops immediately moved to intercept the drone and managed to bring it down, thwarting the illicit operation. Upon conducting an initial search of the vicinity, the BSF recovered a DJI Matrice 300 RTK quadcopter drone, which had been attached to three packets of suspected narcotics using an iron ring, from the fields of Dhanoe Kalan village.
The consignment also included four luminous strips, designed to aid in the detection of smugglers. The recovered haul, weighing approximately 3.3 kg, is suspected to be heroin. This incident marks yet another foiled attempt by Pakistan to engage in nefarious activities, thanks to the vigilant efforts of the BSF troops.
The BSF, entrusted with the duty of safeguarding the 3,323 km India-Pakistan border, remains committed to ensuring the security and integrity of the nation. The interception of this drone and the seizure of narcotics exemplify their relentless dedication to combating cross-border smuggling and criminal activities.
