The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur celebrated one of its most illustrious alumni, Yatindra Pal Singh Suri, during its grand 70th Convocation held on December 30, 2024. As the Co-Chair of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Corrosion Management Committee, he has been at the forefront of pioneering efforts to combat corrosion, significantly contributing to India’s ambition to become a corrosion-free nation. His leadership was instrumental in implementing the CII National Mission on the War Against Corrosion, a strategic initiative born out of the 2014 Memorandum of Understanding between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Barack Obama.

He successfully expanded export markets to the USA, European Union, and Canada, ensuring adherence to responsible trade practices and skillfully navigating the complexities of anti-dumping duties.
